Job prerequisites: A Chef or Cook is responsible for using their culinary expertise to create appetizing dishes for diners to enjoy. Their duties include overseeing kitchen staff, tasting dishes before going to customers and restocking food produce as needed.
Job Description:
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
- Prepare meals for respective section and assist in all kitchen activities to ensure that guests receive high quality food items in a timely manner.
- Organize the day’s prepping for the cooks and restaurants.
- Assist in the training, scheduling and supervision of kitchen staff.
- May serve as Sous Chef in his/her absence as required.
- Attends and participate in all pertinent meetings.
- Purchases and confirms delivery of food, supplies, equipment, from approved sources to ensure adequate stock levels to perform departmental functions and meet the needs of the residents within approved budgets.
- Evaluates employee performance and develops education and training plans to improve the employees’ skills and knowledge as needed.
- Supervises, coordinates, and contributes to the activities of culinary team in the creation.
