    5. Basic math skills; must be familiar with U.S. currency prior to arriving
    6. Must arrange own housing
    7. Must be able to handle a high stress environment.
    The ideal candidate would be someone who is organized, presentable, great customer service skills, interested in interacting and speaking with customers, smiles often and has a welcoming demeanor.

Job Description :

As a Host/Hostess, it is your responsibility to make the guest feel welcome. You should provide a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for guests by offering a cheery greeting, compliments, and/or recognizing regular customers by name. Each and every guest should feel “special” and it is up to you to put them at ease. You must keep your energy level and enthusiasm up, entertain your guests and make your service special. The excitement of the aroma, the decor, the music, lighting and the ocean view are stimulated by your dynamic personality and service at the door. You are the first person a customer sees; so, greet the customer with a smile! The customer’s first impression of RipTydz is YOU! All incoming guests must receive a friendly, sincere greeting. As the Host/Hostess, you are also the last person the guest will come in contact with. When the customer leaves, the customer should be thanked, and invited to return. If time allows, you can ask “how was everything?”. Provide the guest with a good last impression of our restaurant.


  • GREETER: Main priority is to make guest(s) feel welcome and provide them with direction and information. Listen intentionally to the guest. Do not interrupt! Proactively greet and interact with guests.
    ● Gather information on party size and preference in seating and provide quote times.
    ● SEATER: To an observer, seating guests might seem straightforward. In reality, a host or hostess is managing several considerations when they choose a table. The guest’s preferences are a top priority, but floor plans and rotation are also involved in the decision. Thus the Seater and the Lead/Pager must communicate, work together and try to “stick to the plan” once a table is assigned.
    ● Greet the party they are seating by name, gather the number of menus/kid menus and silverware needed for the party, retrieve high chairs/extra chairs.
    ● Report back to the Coordinator the status of tables (clean, dirty, eating, check on table, etc.)
    ● COORDINATOR: Main priority is floor management. It is the art of balancing open tables, waiting guests, and server rotation. At the start of the shift, the host or hostess must make him/herself aware of the floor plan that separates tables into server sections and the order of the seating rotation.
    ● Keep the table chart updated, observe the flow of service, prioritizing the wait list, follow server rotation.
    ● Maintain clean and orderly host stand
    ● Collect and clean menus
    ● Restock and maintain retail area
    ● Handle Carryout orders (phone orders, payments, collecting and provided items to the guest)
