Position: Busser/Food Runner

Position Available: 3 Positions (Male Only) (Full)

Hourly wage: $2.13 per hour + Tips

Wage comments: Wage is $2.13 per hour (plus tip out). Generally this equals about $12-$15/hour sometimes more. Minimum you will make is $12/hour.

Job prerequisites:

  1. Advanced English
    2. Must be outgoing, friendly, communicative.
    3. Must be comfortable in an urban/city environment
    4. Must arrange own housing
    5. Must be able to handle a high stress environment.
    6. Must be able to stand for the entire shift.
    7. Must be able to lift/carry large trays, bus pans, glass racks, boxes, trash bags, etc. (30lbs
    8. Must provide Excellent Customer Service at all times.
    9. Must not have any food allergies/limitations ( you will be handling fish, beef, pork,liquor/beer/wine, chemicals for cleaning, etc.)

    Prior restaurant experience is not required but preferred.

Job Description :

Host Company will place the participants where they see fit in either Busser or Food Runner position based on the abilities of that individual and the needs of the business.Duties would include but not limited to:

BUSSER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Restocking beer and liquor at all bars
  • Filling ice wells at the bars and server stations
  • Putting trash cars out at the bars, server stations, kitchen, and diner floor.
  • Being present and visible on the designated floor you are stationed
  • Ensuring that tables are clear, cleaned, and sanitized between seating
  • Assisting with the cleaning and processing of dirty dishes and
  • Reporting any damages, shortages, and complaints to the manager.
  • Moving tables, chairs, and furniture to accommodate customers as
  • Changing beer kegs properly
  • Empty kegs are to be brought and stored on the bottom floor
  • Tidying the restaurant after service and ensuring that it is prepped for the following day.
  • Taking all trash from dining room and kitchen to the bottom floor for disposal
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of all tables in the restaurant
  • Set up/take down rubber mats before/after shift

FOOD RUNNER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Food runners have many responsibilities in the restaurant. The main and obvious one is to ensure orders arrive to tables complete and in a timely manner. This means being a last check for quality or completeness of orders. As a rule of thumb if you would not eat something based on quality do not sell it.
  • All food should be carried out on trays and use tray stands. No trays should be set on tables
  • When at a table always greet the customers and then proceed with handing out food.
  • When handing out food be sure to place the dish in front of the customer. Do not pass or hand the dish to customers
  • After all food is at the table see if anyone is needing anything. If so,let the server know what is needed at the table and head back to the kitchen.
  • A quick turnaround is expected from the time the order leaves the kitchen to the point runners get back in the kitchen.
  • Opening/Closing Duties for Food Runner area
  • During shifts food runners should be present in the kitchen unless they are taking an order to a table.
  • Food runners are responsible for garnishing and finishing orders before they leave the kitchen
  • The food runner area should be spot cleaned consistently during operating hours. I.E sweeping, cleaning spills, or wiping down food trays.
