Hourly wage: $14.00 per hour
Bonus comments: Good performance is rewarded with tokens that are redeemable for various prizes. Employee rate on park admission.
Overtime details: 1.5x normal rate. Overtime may be offered at times but not guaranteed.
Job prerequisites:
- Ability to work with U.S. currency and perform basic math skills
- Ability to learn and operate cash register or POS system.
- Ability to safely exert 25 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects such as boxes.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift while moving and stationary position, +8 hours.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs, kneel, bend frequently.
- Ability to use strong visual, hearing, and physical senses needed to keep our workspace safe, clean, and welcoming for every customer.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to maintain grooming and clothing standards.
- Ability to maintain professional and positive attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and efficiency
- Excellent English required.
- Available to work weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays
- No previous experience required.
Participant is required to live at the housing facilities provided in this offer. The job is tied to the housing, so loss of employment means participant must vacate housing. Likewise, if participant is evicted from housing, participant is no longer able to work at Kalahari.
Job description:
Retail Sales Associates are responsible to provide fast, friendly, and accurate check out services for customers using computerized cash register systems. As the primary contact between the customers and the company, they are expected to deliver top quality customer service and be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive image of the company.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Greet and interact with Guest in a positive, friendly and professional manner.
- Answer customers’ questions, and provide information on products, policies and procedures.
- Bag or wrap merchandise after purchase.
- Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions.
- Compute and record totals of transactions.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and sum bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that they are staffed appropriately.
- Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
- Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Request information or assistance using paging systems.
- Resolve customer complaints.
- Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
- Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices.
- Calculate total payments received during a time period, and reconcile this with total sales.
- Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
