At Bakers Hall you may work in the Marketplace, Cafe, Kitchen, or espresso bar. Positions include Greeter, Cashier, or Kitchen Team Member. The greeter includes welcoming guests inside as well as working in the Marketplace (an area set up like a store — where you can buy bread, order a sandwich, grab a souvenir or two, etc). You will check and ensure displays are full and items are organized and in their correct spot, help with the flow of customers waiting in line, and help customers with their purchases of items and bread selection. Cashier: operate cash registers, handle American currency, and credit card transactions, wait on customers; stocking, cleaning, etc. Kitchen team members will help prepare food items needed (cut produce, prepare batter for fry foods, etc), clear dirty tables & sanitize, ensure trash cans are empty and orderly, help clean the restaurant each night, clean, wash, & stock restaurant supplies, and maintain a clean work area. Wash pots & pans by hand in hot water, and use dishwashing machines for glasses, dishes, & cutlery. If working the cafe counter you will assist customers with their orders, prepare the food items, and ensure their orders are completed accurately. Espresso Bar: baristas must prepare all drinks as requested, handle the cash register, and ensure customer needs are met. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow directions & read safety manuals. Additional tasks or duties as requested will include sorting garbage products into proper containers including compost (wet trash items), recyclables, and removing the trash, etc. Must like working with the public. You will be cross-trained in any position as needed.

At Pier 39, positions include Cashier: operate cash registers, and handle American currency, and credit card transactions. Wait on customers; assist them with their orders, answer any questions, etc. Plus stocking of supplies and general cleaning, etc. Busser: Assist servers with all food service, clear dirty tables & sanitize, help with all general cleaning, and clean the restaurant each night. Dishwasher: Clean, wash, & stock restaurant supplies, and maintain a clean work area. Wash pots & pans by hand in hot water, and use the dishwashing machine for glasses, dishes, & cutlery. Kitchen: Assist with preparing the food orders, and ensure everything is ready quickly. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow directions & read the safety manual. Additional tasks or duties as requested will include sorting garbage products into proper containers including compost (wet trash items), recyclables, and removing the trash, etc. Must like working with the public. You will be cross- trained in all positions as needed.

At Chowder Hut Grill, positions include Cashier: operate cash registers, and handle American currency, and credit card transactions. Wait on customers; assist them with their orders, answer any questions, etc. Plus stocking of supplies and general cleaning, etc. Busser: Assist servers with food service, clear dirty dishes, clean tables, help with all general cleaning, and may be asked to assist with the cleaning of the restaurant at the end of the night. Dishwasher: Clean, wash, & stock restaurant supplies, and maintain a clean work area. Wash pots & pans by hand in hot water, and use the dishwashing machine for glasses, dishes, & cutlery. Kitchen: Assist with preparing the food orders, and ensure everything is ready quickly. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow directions & read the safety manual. Additional tasks or duties as requested will include sorting garbage products into proper containers including compost (wet trash items), recyclables, and removing the trash, etc. Must like working with the public. You will be cross-trained in all positions as needed.

You may be assigned to any of the following locations: Boudin Fisherman’s Wharf, Chowder Hut, or Boudin at Pier 39. You also may be moved to another location. You may be handling pork products. Must be quick on your feet. This is very physical, hard work so you must be able to lift heavy items, bend, stoop, reach items on high shelves, and be able to stand for 8 hours. Must have great customer service and language skills. Must be flexible – shifts may vary including mornings, afternoons & evenings. You may be leaving your shift late at night in the city. Must be ok with getting home safely close to midnight in a large city.

Your employer will not discuss additional jobs and your Boudin schedule until you have worked successfully for at least two weeks. Do not approach them about a set schedule during your first two weeks of employment. There is no guarantee they can give you a set schedule but they are willing to try and work with their employees about special requests.

Must be dependable, hard-working, friendly, and a very trustworthy and honest individual. Positions require attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Flexible to help in other positions as requested. Additional tasks as requested by management. You will be working all weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), all holidays, and evening shifts. You may not work the same shifts as your friends. Nor will you have the same days off as your friends. No job, or hours at a job, can be 100% guaranteed. Regardless of what your work contract states, there is always a possibility that you will work more or fewer hours. Some days will be slower than others.
