Position: Resort Worker

Position Available: 3 positions (No Preferences)

Hourly wage: $13.50 per hour

Overtime Detail: Overtime MIGHT BE available but not guaranteed

Estimated hours: 32 – 40 Average hours per week

Meals: Provided at employee cafeteria while at work at price per meal

Job Prerequisites:

• Must be able to speak and understand English at an Intermediate or Fluent level.
• Must be prepared for physically demanding work, including lifting/carrying 30–60 pounds.
• Must be flexible and prepared to work in any assigned position (Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, etc.).
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes both high-hour busy weeks and low-hour slow weeks.
• Must not use a personal cell phone while scheduled to work.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Must not have offensive or obscene visible tattoos.
• Must wear a discreet stud for a facial piercing (maximum of one).
• Must be prepared to wear the required uniform, including black slack pants and comfortable closed-toe shoes

Job Description:

Core Responsibilities (All Positions)

• Provide first-class service to all visitors at Mount Rushmore.
• Work hard and take pride in doing a job well.
• Be prepared to work in a variety of positions.
• Help with language translation for guests if you join the optional “Host Program”.

Food & Beverage Attendant

• Prepare food, work in the cafeteria, and operate fast-food service.
• Take customer orders and receive payments using the cash register.
• Assemble food items on trays or in containers.
• Serve cold drinks, ice cream, and hot beverages.
• Wash dirty dishes, clear tables, and wipe down chairs.
• Replenish clean dishes, silverware, and condiments.
• Perform any assigned cleaning duties.

Housekeeping/Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including public spaces, the outdoor patio, and the parking facility.
• Ensure floors and bathrooms are cleaned.
• Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Pick up trash off the ground.
• Replace light bulbs when needed.
• Report items in cleaned areas that need to be fixed to the maintenance crew.

Retail Associate

• Greet customers and find out what merchandise they are looking for.
• Display and suggest items to meet customer needs.
• Ring up sales and receive payment on the register.
• Wrap or bag merchandise.
• Stock shelves and counters with merchandise.
• Clean the work area and store floor as directed.
• Answer customer questions about where items are, their price, and how to use them.

Parking Attendant

• Assist guests at the Pay on Foot stations.
• Be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the Memorial.
• Direct traffic in the parking area.
• Act as a crossing guard at the pedestrian walkway.
• Help keep all parking lot grounds and outdoor areas clean

 

English Required skills: Intermediate – Advanced (A, B+, B, C+ ONLY)

Housing Information

Cost details: $40 + tax per student per week
