Hourly wage: $10.98 + Tips per hour

Average of Hours: 32 – 40 hours per week

Overtime: Yes, paid after 40 hours

Eligible for Tips: Yes

Tips are pooled at the end of the evening by the servers. Tips will be split with the host/hostess and amounts will depend on business and number of servers working that shift.

Job Descriptions:

• Must have a high attention to detail, and accurate money/cash handling skills.
• Must be able to work individually or on a team and at a quick pace.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand instructions given in the English language.
• Must have the ability to understand and respond to verbal instructions given in the English language.
• Must be able to maintain a clean and orderly area including preparation area, guest areas (tables, chairs, serving lines, condiment stands, etc.), bathroom areas, and all equipment.
• All workers will perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as lifting, balancing, climbing, and stooping or bending. These activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs. Some employees will be required to work outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions such as rain, cold temperatures, direct sunlight.
• All employees may be moved between work areas as needed

Housing Information

Housing assisted by: Must arrange own

Cost Amount: $100 – $300 per student per week

Transportations: Destin does not have a large public transportation system, but there are local trolleys, shuttles, and rideshare options during the summer season. Many participants walk, bike, or carpool to work. Housing is generally within a short distance of the restaurant and local shops.
