Job Description:
Assist customers with bike rental procedures. Educate customers on products, complete paperwork, take payment and explain bike procedures. Give directions, answer questions, and close the sale. Excellent communication skills are required and am comfortable speaking loudly to large groups of people. Upbeat, outgoing, friendly, and have a positive outlook to do this. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and switch priorities. Able to work independently as well as in a group. Must have the ability to stand for an entire shift. This is a VERY physical, fast-paced job. You will work a 10-hour shift and be on your feet for the entire shift. You will be standing, walking, riding, and lifting bikes. On some days, we rent out upwards of 1500 bikes per day. You must be very customer service-focused and prepared for physical activity. Must be able to ride a bike. For some of you, part of your job will require you to be in front of the store and ask people as they walk by if they would like to rent bikes. For some of you, the focus will be maintaining the bikes in the lower area. You will still interact with customers when you present the bikes, but you will be ensuring the safety of the bike, cleaning, and preparing the bikes for rent. This involves lifting and removing bikes from a bike rack. This job is very fast-paced and you will be busy all the time. There is no time to stand around taking to co-workers. Always give the customers your full attention! All employees share in the general upkeep of the shop and the employee areas, including cleaning and tidying of the shop, breakrooms, and bathrooms. All employees will also be required to clean and organize the bikes and other equipment. Must be dependable, hard-working, friendly, and a very trustworthy and honest individual. Positions require attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Flexible to help in other positions as requested. Additional tasks as requested by management. You will be working all weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), all holidays, and evening shifts. You may not work the same shifts as your friends. Nor will you have the same days off as your friends. No job, or hours at a job, can be 100% guaranteed. Regardless of what your work contract states, there is always a possibility that you will work more or fewer hours. Some days will be slower than others.
