Position:   Amusement Park Team (Ride Operator, Cashier, Games Game Operator, Food & Beverage, Park Attendant)

Position Available:3-4 pos itions

Hourly wage: $12.50 per hour

Overtime: Sometimes

Overtime Detail: Same Hourly Rate

Bonus: Yes

Bonus Comment: Individuals who work until the end date listed on the DS-2019 form or who work through the end of the park season will receive a $250 bonus.

Estimated hours per day: 40+ hrs. per week minimum

Game Operator Position

Job Specifications: 

  • Able to work standing outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to speak fluent English.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Able to use basic math skills.

Job Description:

  • Participants must know American currency.
  • Test equipment daily before opening the game.
  • Enforce game rules and recommendations to ensure safe operation.
  • Inform guests about the game and its safety procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the game areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Participants may be using cleaning chemicals.

Individuals will be offered the opportunity to be trained in areas such as event set-up & tear-down, security, and sanitation activities. Hours worked in those other areas will be compensated at the regular rate of pay. The opportunity to work in other areas is mostly optional; occasionally everyone will be asked to support large events.

Please Note: For the health and safety of guests this is a smoke-free park, including e-cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all other areas of the park.

 

Food Service Position

Job Specifications: 

Participants in this role will be working in both the back and front of house, either as a server or kitchen helper, as needed.

  • Able to sit and/or stand for long/short periods
  • Able to speak fluent English – must be able to explain orders and be able to take orders
  • Able to read and write English
  • Able to use basic math skills

Job Description:  

  • Able to receive orders and transmit orders through the point-of-sale system
  • Able to tolerate approved exposure levels of various chemicals found in cleaning solvents
  • Able to memorize written safety procedures
  • Able to remain alert and attentive
  • Able to lift 30 pounds
  • Must comply with all Health Department, ServSafe, and company regulations pertaining to Food Safety Handling Procedures.
  • Able to smile and make eye contact in order to make a friendly impression when greeting guests
  • Able to comprehend instructions and retain information
  • Able to tolerate a fast-paced, hectic environment
  • Must be flexible in order to handle frequent changes in priorities

Park Attendant Position

Job Specifications:

Job Description:

  • Test equipment daily before opening the ride.
  • Enforce ride restrictions and recommendations to ensure safe operation.
  • Inform guests about the ride and its safety procedures.
  • Assist guests, as trained, with boarding and exiting the ride, particularly with small children or guests with a disability.
  • Check safety restraints and ensure they are correctly secured before ride is in motion.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the ride and work areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Participants may be using cleaning chemicals.

Cashier Position

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sell tickets for the park and various park attractions.
  • Redeem season memberships.
  • Sell retail items including candy and park merchandise.
  • Rotate stock to maintain freshness standards (FIFO ±First In, First Out).
  • Provide warm attention and be polite towards Park customers.
  • Represent the Historic Arnolds Park image by coming to work clean and in uniform.
  • Be on time for shifts.
  • Respect superiors and fellow workers.
  • Participate as part of a team by assisting others when needed.
  • Understand the impact that good service, the quality of Park products, and the cleanliness of the facility and surroundings has on guests.
  • Always be ready to identify and resolve customer requests.
  • Fulfill all of the assignments given during shifts.
  • Clean as needed.
  • Follow all Park policies and procedures.
  • Excellent English or higher is required for this position.
  • Participants may be using cleaning chemicals in this role.

 

Job Benefits:

Participants will receive 12 free passes to the park for friends.

The employer will host a participant event every month (movie, bowling, mall of America, Valleyfair- an amusement park located in Minneapolis).

Some examples of events each month include:

Employer will host a camp retreat day complete with swimming, ziplining, canoeing, horseback riding and other fun events. The employer will host a few movie nights and meals during/after work throughout the months of June/July/August. In August the employer will host events at Valleyfair andshopping in Minneapolis.

Spencer, IA is about 15 miles away and provides more shopping and entertainment opportunities.

Local public transportation is not available, however Boji Rides Taxi has flat rates for in-town and local transportation for approximately $5.00. The employer will provide participants with details and possible discounts upon arrival.
