Job Description :

Abe’s Gifts specializes in providing dedicated service to school groups during their educational visits to the U.S. capital, offering 30-minute appointments for an enriching experience. Participants in this role will have various responsibilities that contribute to the smooth operation of the Gift Shop and create a positive experience for visitors.

Customer Engagement:

Warmly welcoming and assisting all visitors, with a special focus on school groups. Providing exceptional customer service to ensure positive interactions. Aiding customers, including children and teachers, during their shopping experience. Guiding visitors to relevant racks and counters and suggesting items. Building customer confidence by offering suggestions and opinions. Monitor to prevent theft within the Gift Shop. Being vigilant and observant while ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment for all guests.

Gift Shop Operations:

Handle transactions using the POS system. Processing payments by totaling purchases; cash and credit cards. Keeping merchandise well-stocked, organized, and well-presented. Maintaining cleanliness in the gift shop, includes dusting, changing trash, folding clothes, stocking shelves, and cleaning. (bathroom)

Administrative Tasks:

Conducting daily drawer counts, reconciling sales receipts, and completing end-of-day paperwork. Contributing to event setup and takedown, providing a warm greeting to guests, and assisting with various event-related tasks. Troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Participants in this role play a vital part in ensuring a memorable and educational experience for guests, particularly school groups, at Abe’s Gifts.
