Position: Lifeguard  

Position Available: 3 – 4 positions

Hourly wage: $13.00 per hour

Estimated work hours: 32-40 Hours average per week

Job Prerequisite:

Lifeguard Certification Prerequisite Skills and Physical Requirements:

1. Distance swim using front crawl or breaststroke without resting:
   1. Pool lifeguard: 100 yards (approximately 90 meters)
2. Feet first surface dive, retrieval of a 10-pound (4.5 kg) brick, and exit pool unassisted:
3. Treading water without using arms:
   1. Pool lifeguard: 1 minute.
4. First aid and safety procedures test.

Job Description:

• The key duty of a Lifeguard is to uphold the standards set forth by Jeff Ellis and Associates and Wilderness at the Smokies.
• Aquatics employees will start at $13 per hour until completing certification which is paid and provided for by the company.
• Certified lifeguard pay is $14-$15 per hour depending on certification.
• Your responsibility is to protect and prevent injuries from occurring to swimmers.
• If you do not pass the certification, you will remain a Slide Attendant.

English Required Skills: Advance – Upper Intermediate (A, B+, B, C+ Only)

Start Date: May 15^th – June 1^st, 2026

End Date: August 15^th – September 7^th, 2026

We schedule cultural events for students like hockey games, karaoke nights, and snow tubing. Recently built housing is offered to participants located less than 1 mile from work. Our company, along with many other companies in the area, have used the J1 program for many years and are accustomed to the program.
