Position: Prep Cook
Position Available: 1 Position
Hourly wage: $11.00 per hour
Overtime: 1.5 x normal rate. Overtime may be offered, but not guaranteed.
Estimated hours per day: 35 – 40 hours per week
Meals : Free shift meal

Job Description :
Prep Cook :Assist head chef and prepare, season, and cook dishes such as soups, meats, vegetables, or deserts in restaurant.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
- Bake, roast, broil, stir fry and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to waiters or patrons.
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils.
Food preparation:
- Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.
- Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
- Weigh or measure ingredients.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
- Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
- Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
General cleaning:
- Clean counters and food prep areas
- Sweep and scrub/mop floorsClean and sanitize freezers and coolers
- Clean and organize storage and work areas
- Clean kitchen equipment
- Clean garbage cans and bus cart
- Recycle, compost & take out the trash daily
English Required skills: Intermediated (A, B+, B, C+ only)
