Hourly wage:  $18.00 per hour

Estimated hours per day: 32 hours weekly minimum

Meals: Employee Meal Plan available at a subsidized price. Meals are not free.

Bonus comments: Bonuses are not guaranteed and are contingent upon work performance. A $1000 bonus may be awarded upon successful completion of the contract through the final day, submission of a valid Food Handler’s Card, and provision of a Social Security Number (SSN).

To be eligible, participants must work through the last day of their contract. End-of-contract bonuses are paid only for regular hours worked in the participant’s primary position; overtime hours are excluded. If a manager transfers a participant to a different primary position due to business needs, previously worked hours may still be counted. However, if a participant voluntarily changes roles, the company is not obligated to pay the bonus.

Hours worked in a secondary job with the company do not qualify toward the bonus program. However, hours worked in the primary position are included when calculating overtime rates. For example, if a participant works 40 hours in their primary position in one week, any hours worked in a secondary role will be paid at the overtime rate.

Participants must also remain in good standing to qualify for the bonus. Excessive tardiness, unsatisfactory work performance, or policy violations may result in disqualification. Please note: you will not receive the end-of-contract bonus if HR has not received your Social Security Number.

Must work to last day. *End of contract bonuses are only paid out for regular hours worked in the participant’s primary position. Overtime hours are not included. Should a participant be transferred to a different primary position by a manager, due to the needs of the business, the previous hours worked may be counted. If a participant changes roles voluntarily, the company is under no obligation to pay out the end of contract bonus. If a participant works a second job with the company those hours do not qualify for the bonus program, however the primary role hours are included in the second job hours. Example: If a participant works 40 hours in a week in their primary job, any hours worked in the second job would be paid at the overtime rate that week. Participants must also be in good standing to receive their bonus. Excessive tardiness, poor work performance, or other policy violations will jeopardize qualifying for the bonus. YOU WILL NOT receive your bonus at the end of your contract if you have not provided HR with your social security number.

Job Prerequisites:

Advanced English is required for this position. Must be able to lift 50lbs/23kg and stand for up to 8 hours; no physical limitations. Must be able to work with all food types, including pork and seafood. Please do not apply if you have any sensitivities to cleaning chemicals (dish sanitizer). Must commit to the end date. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. The host employer requires an interview with participants prior to placement. Previous Line Cook Experience preferred. Even if it is a café, deli, or small bistro, that will be fine.

Job Descriptions:

This is an advanced level, fast-paced position. Previous kitchen experience required. Line Cooks are responsible for preparation, assembly, and final presentation of ingredients according to company recipes and specifications and ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food by testing them. These individuals will utilize a large range of kitchen skills, including slicing, grinding, frying, and baking during food service. Line cooks are also responsible for the detection and disposal of unattractive and spoiled foods. They will promote safety culture in all areas in the workplace, including food safety, customer safety, and the safety of team members. Must commit to end of contract date. Must have Advanced English to read instructions & recipes, as well as communicate with the other cooks. Responsible for the preparation of raw foods into an approved recipe format to create finished food products. Must be detail oriented & able to follow instructions. Job duties may include preparing food items for cooking; stocking food items as needed; cleaning & maintaining kitchen & food prep equipment; maintaining proper sanitation controls of products; preparing sauces, vegetables, meat (pork), fish and poultry items properly and cooking to restaurant standards. You must be able to stand for your entire shift and be able to lift up to 50lbs/23kg. Employer may change position based skill level and on needs of the restaurant. Every employee will, at times, assist with Dishwasher position.
