Hourly wage: $15.00 per hour
Average of Hours: 32 – 40 average hour per week
Job Prerequisites:
- Physically Capable: Able to stand for long periods (8+ hours) and lift, push, or pull racks and bins weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable and Punctual: Dependable enough to maintain a consistent schedule, as the kitchen’s flow depends entirely on the availability of clean dishes.
- Comfortable in High-Volume Environments: Able to work efficiently in a hot, fast-paced, and damp environment, especially during peak dining hours and weekend shifts.
- Attentive to Detail: Committed to ensuring every plate, glass, and utensil is spotlessly clean and sanitized according to health department standards.
- A Team Player: Willing to assist chefs and prep cooks with basic tasks (like peeling vegetables or taking out trash) when the dish station is caught up.
- Safety-Conscious: Able to follow strict protocols for chemical handling (detergents and sanitizers) and safe operation of industrial dishwashing machinery.
- Flexible with Scheduling: Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as these are the busiest times for the resort.
Job Descriptions:
- Washing & Sanitizing: Clean all dishes, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils using industrial dishwashers or by hand.
- Safe Handling: Carefully stack and store fragile china and glassware to prevent chips or breakage.
- Kitchen Support: Help the chefs with simple food prep (like peeling potatoes) during busy times.
- Trash Removal: Empty kitchen trash cans and recycling bins frequently throughout the shift.
- Floor Care: Keep the kitchen floor safe and dry by sweeping and mopping regularly.
- Chemical Safety: Use cleaning chemicals correctly and safely according to the resort’s training.
- Organization: Put away clean deliveries and keep the storage shelves neat and tidy.
- High Energy: You will be moving, lifting, and bending for your entire shift.
- Warm & Wet: The dish room is often humid and can get very warm during the dinner rush.
- Team Spirit: You are a vital part of the “Back of House” team; when the dishwasher is fast, the whole restaurant succeeds.
English Required skills: Advance – Intermediate (A, B+, B, C+, C Only)
