Position: Food Runner/ Prep Cook
Position Available: 3 Positions
- Food Runner: 2 positions
- Prep Cook: 1 position
Hourly wage: $2.83 (+tips) – $15 per hour
- Food Runner: $2.83 + tips
- Prep Cook: $15.00 per hour
Overtime details: Overtime is possible but it is not guaranteed. Anything worked over 40 hours per week is considered overtime and will be paid 1.5 times
Estimated hours per day: 32 Hours Per Week Minimum
Number of days per week: Varies
Job Prerequisites:
Food Runner:
- Advanced English
- Must be outgoing, friendly
- Students must be willing to clean and remove rubbish
- Students must be comfortable in an urban/city environment
- Must arrange own housing
Prep Cook:
- Upper Intermediate to Advanced English required.
- Love for cooking or experience in culinary a plus.
- Participants must be willing to clean in the kitchen and remove trash.
- Participants will stand the entire shift.
- Participants are in contact with sharp knives, boiling liquids/water, hot pans and grills. Kitchens will be hot.
- Participants must cut and serve pork. This is a must. NO exception.
- Students must be comfortable in an urban/city environment.
- Must arrange own housing
Job Description:
Food Runner: You will be delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately.
- Acting as the point of contact between Front of the House and Back of the House staff. Communicating food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities (e.g. food allergies).
- Maintain the front façade of the building, toilets, floors, and surrounding work areas by keeping the area swept, mopped, and free from spills, trash, debris. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from tables and workstations.
- Removes dishes, glasses, cutlery, and resets tables. Scrapes and stacks plateware in the dishwashing area. Greets guests with a smile, in a friendly manner.
- Assists servers and management to achieve a successful shift. Stocks replenish, retrieves, supplies.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Prep Cook: Prepares food according to recipes.
- Coordinates food orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepares food by measuring, cutting, peeling.
- Ensures all products are stored, labeled, rotated.
- Ensures cleanliness of all freezers, prep areas.
- Assists in kitchen cleanliness, including all station equipment, utensils (flat tops, grills, storage drawers)
- Cleans all dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils. Removes waste, garbage, and recyclable materials from the kitchen.
- Stocks cleans, closes all stations. Flexible and willing to be trained in all kitchen positions: dishwasher, line cook, prep cook.
- Students must work with pork. Stand for long periods of time.
