Job Descriptions: Mama Flora’s Cucina operates several quick-service restaurants inside Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. These are fast-food style locations in an amusement park, not a traditional sit-down Italian restaurant. Under this company, participants may work at different food stands or restaurants inside the park that serve items such as pizza, wings, burgers, gyros, cheesesteaks, snacks, ice cream, and soft drinks. Some locations accept the Six Flags dining pass and focus on high-volume, fast service for park guests. Participants are hired by Mama Flora’s Cucina (the company/LLC) and may be scheduled at more than one of the company’s locations during the season, depending on business needs. As a Team Member, you will work in these quick-service restaurants and support daily operations in three main areas: cooking, cashiering, and cleaning. Team Members prepare and cook food according to company recipes and all ServSafe and food safety training provided. You must follow food handling, temperature, and sanitation rules at all times. You must be willing and able to handle, prepare, and serve pork and other meat products; this is an essential part of the job. You will use a point-of-sale (POS) system to take orders, handle cash and card payments, and help cash out and reconcile registers when needed. You are expected to listen to customers, provide basic information, and redirect them to a manager if there is a problem or a question you cannot answer. Cleaning is a regular part of this job. Duties include wiping counters and tables, cleaning equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping both guest areas and kitchen areas clean and organized. All tasks must be completed according to company policies and food safety and sanitation standards. This is a busy, fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and customer-service skills are required. You must be patient and polite when working with many different customers, including guests who may be impatient or difficult. The job involves standing and walking for long periods in a hot environment and doing repeated physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and moving supplies.

Why choose us?: Mama Flora’s Cucina operates quick-service restaurants inside the Six Flags theme park in Jackson, New Jersey. The company runs fast-paced food outlets that serve a high volume of park guests throughout the season. Participants work as part of a team preparing and serving food, completing basic cleaning tasks, and supporting daily operations according to company standards and procedures.
Cultural exchange activities: Participants live in New Egypt, New Jersey, a very small American town near Six Flags Great Adventure. New Egypt has only a few essential services, such as a bank, a pharmacy, and a small number of local businesses. There are limited entertainment options in town, so participants should not expect big-city nightlife, shopping malls, or many restaurants within walking distance. Most cultural exchange in New Egypt comes from everyday life—interacting with local residents, going to the small shops that are available, and spending time with coworkers. Participants often cook together, share food and traditions from their home countries, and practice English with one another. On days off, some participants choose to plan trips to larger cities such as New York City or Philadelphia. There is a bus from New Egypt to New York City and Philadelphia, but the schedule is limited, so these trips usually require advance planning and coordination with friends. Because the local area is quiet and rural, participants who accept this placement should be comfortable with a simple small-town environment and be prepared to organize their own cultural activities and trips with fellow participants.
