Position Available: 5-7 Position
Hourly wage:
Southern Virginia: $15.00 per hour
Northern Virginia: $15.00 per hour
Maryland – Frederick: $15.00 per hour
MD Montgomery County: $17.76 per hour
Massachusetts: $15.00 per hour
Estimated hours per day: Average of 38-46 hours per week.
Job Prerequisites:
Students should be flexible and open to be placed in either Southern Virginia, Northern Virginia, Maryland – Frederick, MD Montgomery County, Massachusetts. Their placement will be determined upon arrival based on the staffing needs at the time.
The lifeguard training will be done upon arrival in the United States but the students will need to submit videos showing that they can complete the following prerequisites:
- swim at least 150 meters without stopping using freestyle and breaststroke
- retrieve a 10-pound-brick from a minimum depth of at least 8 feet
- tread water for 2 minute without using arms using legs only.
The lifeguard is responsible for constant, dedicated surveillance and monitoring of pools to prevent accidents. You will need to rescue swimmers in danger, test the chlorine levels, safely handle pool chemicals, clean the pool and pool area (including bathroom), and administer CPR/first aid as needed.
Confident English speaking skills are required for interacting with swimmers and pool patrons.
You must pass Lifeguard Certification Training or Swim Test in your home country. You are also required to pass a pool operator exam prior to or upon arrival. You will be tested regularly (and without notice) on lifesaving, CPR, and First Aid throughout the summer.
You may not sleep or rest your eyes on duty. You may not use a cell phone on duty. You must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, will be exposed to heat, sun, and chlorine daily
Job Descriptions:
- Ensuring guest safety and provide exceptional guest service.
- Standing/sitting in and out of water for long periods of time.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect facility as required and report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
- Maintaining skills at a rescue-ready level at all times.
- Remain alert and attentive at all times.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
- Maintain professional lifeguarding practices at all times.
- Keep the facilities and property clean and comfortable for guests.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
English Required skills: Advanced (A, B+, B)
Start Date: May 23 – June 20, 2026 (Arrival no later than June 20th to ensure that they get their training prior to the first day of work.)
End Date: August 25 – September 7, 2026
