Why Choose us
Working at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen in Pigeon Forge offers students a wonderful chance to develop real restaurant skills while soaking up the energy of a popular tourist town. Since much of Cheddar’s food is made from scratch — from hand-breaded chicken tenders to freshly baked pies — employees get hands-on experience in food prep, cooking, and quality control. The friendly “homestyle casual” atmosphere gives students opportunities to learn customer service, teamwork, and time management. Being in Pigeon Forge means you’ll also be near big attractions like Dollywood, The Island, and local crafts & entertainment, which makes it easy to explore, meet people from everywhere, practice English, and enjoy cultural exchange outside of work too.
Cultural Exchange Activities
In Pigeon Forge, Tennessee offers a chance to immerse oneself in local traditions, community events, and Appalachian heritage. Students can join Smoky Mountain Springfest with its car shows, Dolly Parade, and wildflower tours, celebrate Independence Day with locals at the Patriot Festival, and experience global performances and food at Dolly Parton’s Festival of Nations in Dollywood. They can also explore local crafts and traditions at A Mountain Quiltfest and heritage sites like The Old Mill, or enjoy storytelling, music, and Appalachian culture during seasonal events. These activities not only provide fun and entertainment but also help students connect with the community, share their own culture, and build lifelong friendships in a vibrant cultural setting.
