Position: Amusement Park Worker, Ride Operator, Food and Beverage Retail Concessions

Position Available:  5 Positions

Hourly wage: $12.00 –  $15.00 per hour

Amusement Park Worker                                    $12.00 per hour

Ride Operator                                                        $13.00 per hour

Food and Beverage Retail Concessions           $15.00 per hour

Estimated hours per week : 32 hour per week

Over Time detail: Yes, but NOT GUARANTEED. May be available based on business needs.

Job Prerequisites:

Amusement Park Worker: In addition to a strong command of English, this position is physically demanding and requires:

  • Customer service oriented and friendly attitude
  • Strong basic math skills with the ability to operate a cash register or POS system
  • Familiarity with US currency with the ability to accurately count cash and make change
  • Ability to safely lift boxes, bend and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Ride Operator

  • Work in a team environment and interact with others in a professional manner.
  • Maintain area cleanliness, including sweeping walkways and patios, picking up trash, changing trash can liners, cleaning and prepping restrooms.
  • Morning prep of the park prior to opening to include hosing, pressure washing, and air blowing.
  • Follow SOP’s necessary to perform job functions to serve our guests a quality product.
  • Interact with guests by greeting them and providing excellent service in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business need

Food and Beverage Retail Concessions: Maintain a professional appearance that meets grooming and food safety standards Requirements and Competencies:

  • Must possess a high level of guest hospitality and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift, push/pull at least 30 lbs.
  • Must be a team oriented individual.
  • Must be able to work with chemicals.
  • Must be able to be exposed to water.
  • Must be able to work indoors with or without air conditioning.
  • Must be able to work outdoors with or without shade.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, holidays and nights.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements to include but not limited to passing required tests and certifications within established timelines.
  • Must be willing to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards.

Amusement Park Worker

As a Guest Arrival Ambassador, you’ll provide the highest level of guest service and satisfaction. Your positive attitude and can-do spirit will make all the difference as you help create positive, lasting memories for our guests. You will:

  • Greet and interact with guests through their arrival and departure
  • Answer questions and resolve guest issues
  • Advise guests on show times and attraction information
  • Facilitate an organized guest traffic flow in guest parking
  • Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas
  • Sell admission and in-park ancillary products to upgrade our guests experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Ride Operator

Guests come to Busch Gardens to experience our World Class Rides and Attractions. Each ride location is unique in its own manner and provides for an opportunity to work hands on with our guests.

  • Team Members are trained & tested to operate rides (vary from Kiddie Rides, Family Rides, Roller Coasters & Water Rides.
  • Assist guests on & off rides, give rider instructions, monitor rides during cycle.
  • Maintain location cleanliness standards.
  • Rotate positions between different ride locations or at one specific ride location.
  • Team Members may be cross-trained at other Ride Locations.
  • Park/Rides Attendants may be working at a roller coaster, moving ride, or children’s ride area.
  • Constantly monitor and regulate the behavior of patrons and co-workers in the ride area to prevent unsafe activities and accidents.
  • Warn patrons of safety hazards and enforce rules and regulations in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Assist guests in an out of rides which may include lifting children into seats and buckling seat belts and/or safety harnesses.
  • Operate ride controls, buttons, and switches which may be mechanical, computerized or a combination of both.
  • Effectively respond to emergency situations.
  • Prepare ride area for opening and closing each day which may include test runs of the ride.
  • Keep all ride areas clean including: seats, cars/trains, ride platform, and guest line area. This may include sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, dusting, polishing, power washing, vacuuming, waxing, and picking up trash.
  • Control entry to ride areas by monitoring pass/ticket usage.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Respond to and take appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints of guests.
  • Keep supervisor/manager informed of situations relating to facility operation, patron complaints or concerns, accidents, emergency situations, damages, and potential safety hazards.
  • Attend departmental and team meetings as well as participate in all additional training courses.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property, as needed.

Food and Beverage Retail Concessions:

Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:

  • Provide exemplary Service and ensure Culinary Standards of Service are met.
  • Perform general food prep work including preparing produce, desserts, entrees, snacks and basic menu items.
  • Follow SEA menu guidelines to specifications and serving procedures.
  • Ensure correct portions of food and beverage are serviced at correct temperatures with proper plate presentation.
  • Maintain food quality and sanitation standards to prevent cross- contamination.
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations.
  • Accurately process monetary transactions following proper cash handling procedures, as defined by the cash handling policies.
  • Process and serve hot and cold food items for guests in a timely and courteous manner while maintaining food quality and sanitation standards.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks including wiping down tables and chairs, sweeping, mopping, washing dishes and other duties as assigned in both the guest dining areas, kitchen and back areas.
  • Consistently demonstrate courteous and professional behavior in all work aspects with team members and guests
