Position: Lifeguard
Position Available: 2 Positions
Hourly wage: $13.00 per hour
Estimated hours per week: 32 hour
Job Prerequisites:
Pre-requisite swim test for this position which is as follows:
- 100-yard continuous swim
- 2-minute tread without arms and 20-yard brick retrieval within 50 seconds business needs.
Required experience: Necessary training provided
What it takes to succeed:
- At least 18 years of age
- Strong English language communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Alert and strong attention to detail.
- Effective and efficient decision making.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, both in and out of water
- Requires bending, lifting, pushing, climbing, standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in outside elements of heat, humidity, rain and wind
- Outgoing, friendly personalities are best suited for this position.
You will be assigned your primary site of activity after your arrival and shifts can be scheduled between either Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Busch Gardens at Water Country USA.

Job Description :
Shallow Water Guards are responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our rides, for the enjoyment of our guests. These employees can work in pools up to 4 feet deep and are also responsible for the cleanliness of their attraction and work area.
Shallow Water Guards/First Aid – American Red Cross 8-hour Shallow Water Attendant class is taught in a full day or offered in two 4-hour sections.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Ensuring guest safety and provide exceptional guest service
- Standing/sitting in and out of water for long periods of time.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Inspect facility as required and report any unsafe conditions or equipment.
- Maintaining skills at a rescue-ready level at all times.
- Remain alert and attentive at all times.
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions.
- Maintain professional lifeguarding practices at all times.
- Keep the facilities and property clean and comfortable for guests.
- Attend departmental and team meetings as well as participate in all additional training courses.
- Employees may be asked to move to different locations or job assignments within the property, as needed.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
English Required skills: Advanced ( A, B+, B only)

Housing details:
- Arrive on a Monday to begin on a Thursday.
- Arrival schedule is every Monday prior your DS2019 Start Date. If your DS Start Date falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you must arrive on the Monday after your DS2019 Start Date.
Transportation details:
- Transportation to and from work will be made available and EVs may use this or other options of their choosing to get to work.
- Bus runs are scheduled based on park operating hours
