Position: Bakers Hall Team Member – May 20, June 3, or June 10 Orientation
Position Available: 4 Positions
Hourly wage: $19.18 plus a portion of the pooled tips (50%)
Tips: portion of pooled tips
Estimated hours per day: no less than 32 hrs per week
Meals details: 50% off meals while working a shift

Job prerequisites:
Your start date must match one of these Orientation dates: May 20, June 3, or June 10.
You must present your Social Security Number (SSN) to your employer within 21 days of starting work, or you will be removed from the schedule.
Prior hospitality experience is preferred. You will be part of a team, working directly with the public, and are expected to deliver 100% customer satisfaction.
Per union rules, you may only work up to 89 days from your start date at Boudin. Extensions beyond this period are not possible.

Important Program Note
Boudin Bakery operates under union rules that do not allow seasonal Work & Travel employees to work more than 89 days from their first day of employment. You must commit to the full 89-day period with Boudin. Please plan accordingly. At Pier 39 only, this 89-day restriction does not apply. If you are assigned there, you may work longer than 89 days.
Food Safety Requirement
Before starting work, you must complete an online California Food Handler’s course and present your Food Handler’s card at Orientation. The course has a small fee and takes only a few hours. Ask your Program Coordinator for the link to Premier Food Safety – California Food Handler’s Card
Notify your Program Coordinator once completed.

Position Descriptions
- Greeter / Marketplace
- Welcome and assist guests
- Monitor and restock displays
- Assist with purchases (bread, sandwiches, souvenirs)
- Support line flow and customer service
Cashier
- Operate registers and handle U.S. currency and credit cards
- Answer customer questions and process orders
- Stock supplies and maintain a clean, orderly station
Kitchen Team Member
- Prepare basic food items (cut produce, prepare batters, etc.)
- Clear and sanitize tables, remove trash, and restock supplies
- Operate dishwashing machines and wash pots/pans by hand
- Support overall kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Espresso Bar / Café Counter
- Prepare drinks and café items
- Take and complete orders accurately
- Provide friendly service in a fast-paced environment
Busser (Pier 39 & Chowder Hut) Assist servers with food service Clear and sanitize tables Restock and support general cleaning
Dishwasher (Pier 39 & Chowder Hut) Wash and restock dishes, utensils, pots, and pans Maintain clean work areas
Work Environment & Expectations Physical demands: Standing up to 8 hours, bending, lifting, stooping, reaching high shelves, and lifting heavy items. Work is physically demanding and fast-paced. Schedule: Expect evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Some shifts may end close to midnight in downtown San Francisco—you must arrange safe transportation. Reliability: Missing shifts (except for illness) may result in fewer scheduled hours. You cannot miss shifts for other jobs or classes. Team environment: Expect to work with Spanish-speaking coworkers. You will be crosstrained and asked to assist in multiple roles. Side work and cleaning tasks are always part of the job. Schedule requests: Do not ask for fixed schedules during your first two weeks. While Boudin will try to accommodate requests, set schedules are not guaranteed.
Additional Notes Tips: As permitted by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Work & Travel participants may be included in pooled tips (up to 50%). Details will be explained at Orientation. Friend scheduling: You will not necessarily work the same shifts or have the same days off as your friends. Housing: Housing in San Francisco is very limited. Arrange accommodations early.
