Position: Cashier/Customer Service Associate **Female Only**
Position Available: Female 3-5 Positions
Hourly wage: $12.00 per hour
Estimated hours per day: 32 hours per week
Overtime: Yes
Overtime details: Any hours per week beyond 40 hours will be paid at time and a half.
Job prerequisites:
– Previous paid work experience is required.
– Must be able to stand and remain active for the full duration of a shift.
– Must not have allergies to cleaning chemicals, clothing materials, dust, or similar irritants.
– Strong customer service skills and a positive personality are essential.
– Flexibility is required, as participants may be asked to work in different positions depending on store needs.
– Solo travelers are welcome. Please note that friend groups or couples are not guaranteed to work or live together.
– Housing and job locations are assigned upon arrival at the Beach Mart corporate office, based on business needs and individual skill level.

Job Descriptions:
When you arrive at the main office, you will be assigned both a store location and housing. Store assignments may be in one of the following towns: Avon, Buxton, Corolla, Duck, Hatteras, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, or Nags Head. As part of your training, you will learn a variety of tasks. Depending on store needs, your responsibilities may include:
-Cashiering and customer service: assisting customers at checkout, handling payments, answering questions about products, and helping shoppers find what they need.
-Stocking and pricing merchandise: unpacking shipments, labeling products, restocking shelves, rotating items, and ensuring displays are neat and organized.
-Folding and hanging clothing: preparing new items for display, keeping racks tidy, and organizing fitting rooms.
-Cleaning inside the store: sweeping, mopping, dusting shelves, tidying fitting rooms, and cleaning bathrooms.
-Outdoor cleaning and display work: setting up and taking down seasonal displays, sweeping sidewalks and parking areas, and collecting trash, including cigarette butts. Some positions may also require:
-Heavy lifting (especially for male participants). You may need to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30 kilos (65 lbs) without assistance. These boxes often contain clothing, packaged goods, or seasonal merchandise.
-Climbing ladders to reset displays, hang signage, or arrange clothing on higher walls.
-Transporting stock from offsite storage to store locations, riding in a company van with a supervisor (participant will not be driving).
-Event or seasonal support such as setting up holiday or summer sales sections, moving furniture or display units, or assisting with store-wide resets. In addition to retail stores, there are other opportunities available at Fun Park & Mini Golf locations, the gas station, gym, and arcade.
These roles may involve: Kart Attendant/Game Attendant/Cashier work at the Fun Park, helping customers, maintaining equipment, and keeping the track area clean. Arcade and gym support, such as cleaning machines, restocking supplies, and assisting customers with tokens or memberships.
Gas station support, including cashiering, stocking shelves, cleaning pumps, and providing customer service.
Overall, this role is hands-on and varied. It requires flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude. No matter which location you are placed in, you will gain valuable customer service experience while learning how to keep a business running smoothly.
