Position: Fast Food Cook
Position Available: 2 positions
Hourly wage: $17.10 per hour
Estimated hours per day: 32 hours per week
Number of days per week: 5 days per week
Meals details: Participants receive one free meal from the employee meal menu per shift.
Job Prerequisites:
Nathan’s will provide uniform shirts and hats at no cost. Participants must shower daily, use deodorant, may not wear unwashed clothing, and must wash their hands frequently. Men must be clean-shaven. No beards or goatees are allowed. Neatly trimmed mustaches are allowed. Hair must be tied back or up; shirt must be tucked in. No facial piercings or tongue piercings are allowed.
- Any employee using their cell phone on duty without permission will terminated immediately.
- All employees are required to clean the communal, onsite locker room as assigned.
- Participants should expect to work on Holidays and weekends.
Job Description :
Our food at Nathan’s Famous is very unique. We provide our customers with the highest quality and freshest product that can be produced within a quick serve restaurant. Our cooks must adhere strictly to the standards and recipes of Nathan’s Famous. We strive to provide our customers with the best possible product.
Employees will be standing and walking about in a hot crowded environment during the entire shift. Participants will be using cleaning chemicals.
Duties and responsibilities
- Expeditiously and accurately prepare, cook and serve food according to Nathan’s Famous specifications and procedures.
- Master the skill of working from order screens. Keep up with demand.
- The holding of food must align with the demand. Food products that exceed holding times must be discarded.
- Provide sales associates with all products needed.
- Make sure food assembly areas are always well stocked and clean
- Identify any equipment that is not working correctly and notify manager immediately.
- Be knowledgeable in cooking procedures, equipment, and product specifications manual, as well as health and hygiene regulations.
- Proper use of cooking equipment is essential.
Note: Participants will be handling pork products.
When business is slower, participants will be asked to conduct general cleaning duties:
-Cleaning bathroom walls, floors, tiles, grout, sink and toilets
-Cleaning kitchen walls floors, kitchen equipment and refrigeration units
-Cleaning locker rooms
-Cleaning dining room tables, chairs and condiment containers
Note: If participants do not wish to do these duties, participants can ask to go home early instead, but this will mean working fewer hours.
