Position: Prep Cook
Position Available: 3-4 Positions
Hourly wage: $15.00/Hour
Meals details: Participants may be eligible for some meal discounts, ranging between 25-40% depending on years of service.
Bonus comments: Bonuses are not guaranteed and are contingent upon work performance. A $750 bonus may be awarded upon successful completion of the contract, submission of a valid Food Handler’s Card, and provision of a Social Security Number (SSN).
To be eligible, participants must work through the last day of their contract. End-of-contract bonuses are paid only for regular hours worked in the participant’s primary position; overtime hours are excluded. If a manager transfers a participant to a different primary position due to business needs, previously worked hours may still be counted. However, if a participant voluntarily changes roles, the company is not obligated to pay the bonus.
Hours worked in a secondary job with the company do not qualify toward the bonus program. However, hours worked in the primary position are included when calculating overtime rates. For example, if a participant works 40 hours in their primary position in one week, any hours worked in a secondary role will be paid at the overtime rate.
Participants must also remain in good standing to qualify for the bonus. Excessive tardiness, unsatisfactory work performance, or policy violations may result in disqualification. Please note: you will not receive the end-of-contract bonus if HR has not received your Social Security Number.
Job prerequisites:
Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs. Must have previous experience in the kitchen or a keen interest in culinary arts. No limitations or food allergies. Must be ok with working with pork. Must commit to end of contract date. Must be able to read recipes, communicate clearly and understand measurements. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. Food Handlers Card Required. An interview with the host employer is required for this position
Job Descriptions:
Responsibilities include preparing cold foods, slicing vegetables, meats, preparing menu items in accordance to recipes, and many other tasks designated by the Kitchen Manager. Prep cooks are responsible to maintain the area they work in and must adhere to the cleanliness and sanitation policies in place. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs. Must have previous experience in the kitchen or a keen interest in culinary arts. Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written. Some experience in positions involving food preparation is normally preferred for this job or interest in working in a kitchen. Must commit to end of contract date. Employer may change position based on skill level, need of the restaurant, or to accommodate hours. Every employee assists, at times, with dishwasher shifts. It is important to be flexible. Food Handlers Card REQUIRED.
