Position: Hotel/Resort Worker
Position Available: 1 Position
Hourly wage: $15.00 per hour
Estimated hours per day: 6-8 hours

– Ability to receive direction and perform responsibilities in a fast paced environment
– Standing and constant moving for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift)
– Frequent bending and stooping , lifting up to 25lbs/11 kg

Also note:
Lake Tahoe is a very remote location with little to no nightlife and the rural layout of the city can make it difficult to find a 2nd job (which must be approved by your Host Company and Alliance Abroad). Tipped positions will have varied gratuities and will not be the same for everyone.

Restaurant Attendant:
Employees are responsible for the efficient and timely transportation of plates to the dining
room. This includes proper plate presentation in the kitchen, polishing all plates for service, correct positioning of plates, and ensuring garnish guidelines are met. You will maintain a breakdown station from set-up throughout the shift, assisting the kitchen and service staff with side work as needed. Your responsibilities also include clearing and resetting tables, restocking the service areas and beverage station, and maintaining
cleanliness of counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storeroom areas.
– Provides general assistance to servers to ensure customer satisfaction.
– Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.
– Speedily and efficiently delivers food from the kitchen to the correct customers.
– Fill water glasses and/or pass on beverage refill orders to servers at table.
– Replenish complimentary items such as bread, butter, condiments, etc.
– Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
– Promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths between seating.
– Check floor and clean as required.
– Reset and arrange tabletop for the next customer.
– Inspect assigned restrooms and clean as needed.
– Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as
needed.
– Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the
restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
– Prepares soups, salads and bread & Butter for the servers during rush periods.
– Follows all company health and safety rules.
– Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Room Attendant:
Employees are responsible for keeping guest rooms in a hotel, motel, lodge or inn clean, safe, stocked and maintained. They are expected to be friendly and engaging when interacting with guests to project a positive image of the company.
– Safe handling of cleaning products and chemicals and proper operation of cleaning equipment.
– Clean a specified number of rooms within a designated amount of time.
– Clean restrooms, furniture, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
– Change bed linens and make the beds.
– Replenish towels, linens, toilet tissue, toiletries and complimentary supplies.
– Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
– Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked and clean.
– Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
– Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
– Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers, hang draperies and dust window blinds.
– Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork as necessary to meet company standards.
– Carry heavy items and use a wheeled cart to transport supplies.
– Attention to detail, customer assistance and service is a critical part of this position.
Front Desk:
Employees must provide superior customer service, going above and beyond guest expectations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering a multi-line phone system, making reservations, taking payments, making key cards, as well as greeting and
directing guests to various accommodation sites, all while leaving a welcoming first impression. Representatives must be able to respond to guest’s needs in a knowledgeable and timely manner and handle service issues and other general questions or concerns as
appropriate. This position reports to the Front Desk Supervisor on Duty.
– Balance Inventory
– Process Advance Deposits and cancellation refunds
– Sit in on weekly operations leadership meetings to ensure adequate understanding of rooms needs
– Work with sales teams on blocking groups
– Ensure No Shows are billed and reinstated if necessary
– Verify Open Folios are closed
– Set VIP rooms and amenities
