• Must not have any physical limitations preventing you from doing this fast-paced, physically demanding job.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs (18 kg), delivery boxes and fryer baskets full of chicken, etc.
• Willing to assist the team with tasks as needed.
• Ability to multitask and be willing to give 100% while on shift.

Job Descriptions:

As a Cook at Popeyes, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and assisting with dishwashing and closing shift duties. This position is physically demanding and takes place in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Cooking & Food Preparation
• Prepare menu items according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Operate fryers, stoves, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Assist with prep work such as cutting, portioning, marinating, and stocking supplies.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.

Dishwashing & Cleaning

• Wash pots, pans, utensils, and equipment by hand in very hot water.
• Operate dishwashing machine for plates, glasses, and utensils.
• Perform closing shift cleaning duties, including cleaning the grill, putting away food, mopping floors, sanitizing surfaces, and emptying trash.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen throughout the shift.

Team Support

• Support coworkers during busy rush periods by helping in different areas.
• Communicate effectively with other team members to keep orders moving quickly.
• Complete additional tasks as requested by management.

Work Environment & Conditions

• Fast-Paced: The kitchen is busy and fast-moving, especially during meal rushes. Multitasking and working quickly under pressure are essential. Team-Oriented: You will rely on coworkers, and they will rely on you, to keep orders accurate and on time. Flexibility and teamwork are key. Physically Demanding: Must be able to stand for long shifts, bend, lift, carry, and move quickly in a hot, noisy environment. Safety & Sanitation: Work involves exposure to hot stoves, fryers, sharp utensils, and cleaning chemicals. Proper safety training will be provided. Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift up to 35 Shifts vary; hours of operation are typically between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight (closing).

Qualifications

• Conversational English required (higher English levels helpful but not required since position is mostly kitchen-based).
• Dependable, hard-working, honest, and a strong team player.
• Ability to multitask and follow instructions carefully in a busy setting.
• Punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to cleanliness and safety.
• Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and evening or closing shifts.
• Must understand that schedules are assigned by management and may not align with friends’ shifts.
• Hours cannot be guaranteed; some weeks may be busier or slower than others.
