Job prerequisites: Must have excellent comprehension, conversational English, and reading skills to follow instructions and communicate effectively. Housekeeping experience preferred, but not required. Must be mature, responsible, and professional in behavior and appearance. Only non-party participants will be accepted; alcohol and substance use on the property are not tolerated. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position that requires stamina and attention to detail. Must not have allergies to cleaning products or any physical limitations that would prevent you from performing the required tasks.
Job Descriptions:
You will be part of a housekeeping team responsible for cleaning and maintaining beautiful private cabins and vacation homes inside Yosemite National Park. Work includes cleaning bathrooms (toilets, showers), kitchens, living areas, bedrooms, and outdoor deck spaces (including barbecues). Duties also include changing linens, doing laundry, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, emptying trash, and keeping all areas neat and guest-ready.
This is a very physical position that requires stamina, teamwork, and attention to detail. You will stand, bend, lift (up to 20 lbs/9 kg), climb stairs, and occasionally move furniture or lift mattresses.
Work Environment
The Redwoods in Yosemite is located in a remote, scenic area surrounded by nature. You will experience hot summer weather, mountain air, and local wildlife such as deer, birds, and insects. Applicants must be comfortable living and working in a rural environment inside a national park.
Schedule
Day shifts only. Must be available to work weekends (Friday–Sunday) and holidays. Work hours vary based on occupancy levels and business needs. During slower periods, you may be sent home early; during busy times, expect full days. Shifts and days off will not necessarily match your friends’.
Job Requirements
Must have a positive attitude, be friendly, dependable, and trustworthy. Strong teamwork skills — you will work in pairs or small groups. Attention to detail and efficiency are essential. Comfortable using cleaning chemicals and performing physical tasks. Previous housekeeping experience helpful, but not required. Must follow safety and sanitation procedures carefully. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited; those under 21 years old may not consume alcohol. Violations will result in immediate termination.
Important Points of the Job
Very physically demanding; you’ll be on your feet most of the day. Must work quickly and carefully — deliberately slowing work to increase hours or falsifying timecards will not be tolerated. Consistent attendance is required; shifts may not be missed for other jobs or classes. Be flexible and ready to assist with other duties if needed by management.

There may also be a one-time off-site group event in June, July, or August (optional participation, $50 fee).
