Position: Ride Operator
Position Available: 1 position
Hourly wage: $17.75 per hour
Average hours per week: 32 hours per week
Overtime: Overtime is offered but not guaranteed.
Job Prerequisites:
In addition to a good command of English, this position requires:
- Strong basic math skills with the ability to operate a cash register or POS system
- Ability to safely lift boxes, bend and carry up to 25 pounds
- Work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Job Description:
Ride Operators are responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests through friendly and responsive service.
Specific duties may include but are not limited to any combination of the following:
- Collects tickets or money for rides
- Interacts with guests in a professional, courteous and helpful manner
- Performs all aspects of ride operation as stated in the Standard Operating Procedure Manual
- Remains current with safety rules and procedures
- Monitors ride to ensure normal operation and guest compliance with all safety guidelines
- Ensures appropriate height, age and number of people required on rides
- Assists guests in entering and exiting ride units
- Ensures passengers are secured safely
- Visually and physically checks and secures restraining devices for each ride unit
- Explains safety procedures to riders
- Points out evacuation routes
- Ensures that ride areas are clear of all guests and team members before ride startup
- Uses appropriate hand signals throughout ride operation
- Maintains a clean, safe environment for fellow Ride Operators and guests
- Initiates ride shutdown procedures as necessary
- Completes required safety inspections
- Performs repair and maintenance procedures as needed
- Initiates ride shutdown procedures as necessary
- Provide assistance to patrons entering and exiting ride
- Performs biohazard waste disposal as necessary
- Removes disorderly, obnoxious, or sick people from rides as directed by supervisor
- Assists with ride and park crowd control/ evacuations in case of emergency
- Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor
English Required skills: Advance – Upper Intermediate (A, B+, B only)
