Position: Resort Worker (Housekeeping / Food Service Associate: Dishwasher, Cashier, Retail Stocker, Food Prep., Prep. Cook)
Position Available: 2 – 5 Positions
Hourly wage: $14.35 – $14.70 / Hr (OT will be paid at 1.5 x hourly rate)
Overtime details: Only available after 40 hours of working in a workweek (NOT GUARANTEE)
Estimated Average Hours per Week: Average at 32 hours
Job prerequisites:
- You will be required to take a drug test upon your arrival. Testing positive for drugs or any illegal use or possessions of drugs or alcohol will result in employment and program termination.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Employers are looking for students who will be happy working at the beautiful but isolated world-famous Grand Canyon National Park as a Resort Worker.
- Students must be prepared to perform duties at all mentioned departments, and also should be flexible and should be prepared to work in a variety of positions. However, upon arrival the employer will assign you to a certain position/role and no changes will be permitted thereafter.
- Frequent walking and standing for the entire length of shift
- Frequent climbing of stairs
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and carrying
- Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- J1 Students must be willing to work morning, day, late evening, weekends, and holidays shifts.
- COVID-19 protocols and regulations might still be in place, not limited to quarantine, mask wearing, following the employer’s guidelines, etc.
Job Description:
- Housekeeping:
- General tasks are applied, including cleaning and stocking hotel rooms, making beds, clean bathrooms, dusting, amenities, removing dirty linens, cleaning outside guest rooms, in hallways and surrounding grounds, cleaning with the vacuum, spraying air freshener, cleaning all wastebaskets, mirrors, shelves, door frames, windows, window frames and baseboards.
- Students might work in the laundry.
- Students may need to report all maintenance problems, report and turn in any articles left by guests.
- Food Service Associate/Runner/Dishwasher:
- Students will take full responsibility of stocking, serving and bussing of the food and beverage dining areas, including assisting guests with taking and expediting food orders.
- For dishwashers, students may need to maintain the dish room and dishwashing machine, and wash and properly store all dishes.
- Students may need to prepare and plate food as needed.
- Provide guests with excellent customer service during their dining experience in accordance with Company’s GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.
- Cashier/Stocker/Food Prep:
- Students must provide exceptional guest service to general store, restaurant, or coffee shop patrons including preparing beverages, cash handling, stocking, cleaning, and selling merchandise in accordance with GuestPath Universal Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards.
- Students must prepare food required for foodservice operation and operate a point of sale (POS) system.
- Students must operate kitchen utilities, record all waste, clean up the area, perform cash register transactions, and perform other duties as assigned.
English Required skills: Upper Intermediate – Advance (A, B+, B, C+ only)
Start Date: March 7th – March 14th, 2026
End Date: June 15th – June 30th, 2025

Housing Information
Housing assisted by: Employer (Deposit required is $180 done thru payroll deduction at the work place)
Cost Amount: $75.00 + tax per student per week
Transportation from housing to worksite: Walking distance (5-30 minutes) and employees’ shuttle park bus available.
