Job Description :

Essential Functions:

  • Provide services to guests in a pleasant, efficient, helpful manner during regular dining and/or special events and functions.
  • Maintain cleanliness of serving and dining areas to meet or exceed North Carolina Department of Health guidelines.
  • Keep the grade “A” health standards.
  • Responsible for preparing dining room and serving areas before and after functions.
  • Follow posted duties for specific meals and events.
  • Must possess excellent hospitality skills and a strong desire to foster an attitude of “exceeding guest expectations.”
  • Be on time to all work shifts and functions.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and report any unsafe activities or conditions immediately to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned and required.

Each dining area is a buffet-style restaurant so servers do not take orders; however, they provide service to the guests dining at each table.

The waitstaff will be helping regular dining customers and may also serve in banquet functions.

*Optional: Perform other duties and responsibilities as offered throughout the property when urgent nonrecurring needs arise and all available help is requested.

There are 3 dining facilities on the campus, and servers will rotate shifts throughout these locations. The supervisor will determine the rotation schedule and number of shifts assigned to specific locations. The employer cannot accommodate specific work location requests. All food service staff are required to be flexible and willing to work at any of the three dining locations. Participants are required to clock into the specific location.

Note: Participants will be using cleaning chemicals and may come into contact with pork products.

End Date: September 1st – September 7th, 2025

Meals details: Any time the dining facilities are serving, participants will have access to eat meals onsite at no additional charge. Meals are included in room and board of $75/week. Participants can also elect to purchase their own food and prepare their meals as needed/desired in their housing. No alteration is given to Room & Board if participants do not choose to eat in the dining room.

Nearby options include white-water rafting, shopping and dining, bowling, indoor roller skating and movie theater. Lake Junaluska is just miles away from The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

In the larger region, participants are only a few hours by car from Atlanta Georgia, Nashville Tennessee, Charlotte North Carolina and more cities of interest. The Atlantic ocean is also within a day’s drive – including popular towns like Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Hilton Head Island and more.
