Position: Resort Worker (Food Attendant & Cook, Parking Attendant, Housekeeping/Maintenance) Students to expect to be flexible on working various positions.
Position Available: 1 position
Hourly wage: $13.50 per hour
Average hours per week: 32. Throughout the whole program. Work hours depend on weather, worksite occupancy conditions, and employee attendance. Must work till the last day on DS-2019 form.
Average number of days per week: Varies

Students to expect to be flexible on working various positions
Cell phone usage while working is not allowed!
Mt. Rushmore and the Employee Housing are no alcohol and smoking facilities
Students must be prepared for high and low operations and work as many hours as possible during high peak business and expect low hours during the slow weeks!
Students who can work the full four months of the program will have priority in hiring
Mount Rushmore is a beautiful place for nature lovers, however,please do not expect nightlife, big shopping, or the big city atmosphere
Students should be flexible and should be prepared to work in a variety of positions. However, upon arrival the employer will assign you to a certain position role and no changes will be permitted thereafter
Job Description:
Food Attendant:
– Responsible for food preparation, cafeteria work, fast food operation, dish/pot machine operation and maintaining sanitation standards in kitchen, dining room, and snack bar.
– Take customer orders, receive payments from customers and enters into cash register.
– Selects requested food items from serving or storage areas and assembles items on serving tray or in takeout container.
– Notifies kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders.
– Serves cold drinks, frozen milk drinks, or desserts. Makes and serves hot beverages.
– Scoop and serve ice cream.
– Cooks or apportions food or performs other minor duties to prepare food, serve customers, or maintains orderly eating or serving areas.
– Replenish supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes in dining room, and condiment bar.
– Carries and washes dirty dishes from the dining room.
– Clears and wipes table tops and chairs with damp cloth.
– Work in the Employee Dining Room by serving food and replenishing all food and condiment supplies as needed.
– Cleaning duties as assigned.
Parking Attendant:
– Assist guests at Pay on Foot stations.
– Act as first contact with guests as they arrive to the Memorial.
– Direct traffic within the parking facility.
– Act as a crossing guard at the pedestrian walkway between the parking facility and the memorial.
– Assist with maintaining cleanliness of all parking lot grounds and outdoor areas.
Housekeeping:
Responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas. Areas include public space at the concession building, outdoor patio, parking facility, employee dining room, dormitory hallways and common area. You will help to make sure floors and bathrooms are cleaned, trash and recycling receptacles are emptied, and trash is picked up off the ground.
English Required skills: Upper Intermediate (A, B+, B, C+ only)
Start Date: May 8th – June 30th, 2025
End Date: August 30th – September 7th, 2025
Male: Yes (meals provided at employee cafeteria while at work at price $5.50 per meal)
