Position: Restaurant Attendant (ฺBusser/Food Runner, Host/Hostess, Barista)
Position Available: –
Hourly wage: $13.00 per hour
Overtime: 1.5 x normal rate. Overtime is offered but not guaranteed.
Estimated hours per week: 32 hours per week
Job prerequisites:
- Must be reliable and responsible
- Must be 18 years of age or older and have a friendly, outgoing personality.
- In good physical and mental condition. Ability to bend, push and pull up to 65kg repeatedly. Ability to lift and carry up to 35kg repeatedly. Ability to stand and walk fast on your feet up to 10 hours per day during the 10-12 hour shifts.
- Be tolerant to frequent contact with dust, food and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to work outside all day in the sun and Stand for long period of time during the shift.
- Participants must work until at least the earliest end date on their job offer. Participants will not be permitted to end work early to travel.
- Participants must show receipt that they have applied for their Social Security number within 4 weeks of arrival or they will receive limited hours.
- Participants are not allowed to ask off during the first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks of their program dates.
- Participants will be working minimum 5 days a week.
Job Description :
Hotel Food and Beverage Worker/ Restaurant Attendant:
Participant may be placed in one of these positions upon arrival. Additional duties may be assigned:
- Busser/Food Runner – Pay $13/hr + tipshare
Clears and cleans tables after customer has left. Prepares tables for the next customer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Deliver food to customers from the kitchen.Other duties may be assigned. Removes all dishes, trash, napkins, etc. from the table and floor. Buses all tables within 1-2 minutes after customer has left. Wipes tables with a sanitized towel and resets all condiments. Wipes all chairs and picks up and sweeps around the tables. Cleans restrooms and reports any plumbing problems to management. Refills water, tea, and coffee if needed. Informs a manager as soon as a guest has a complaint or problem. Assists servers when necessary. Follows the safety rules provided. Safety Program found in the Employee Orientation Manual and reports any safety hazards to management.
- Host/Hostess: Pay $13/hr
– Responsible to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them at a table. As the first contact between the customers and the restaurant, the host/hostess is a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the restaurant. While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the hostess to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their orders or wait times.
- Barista: Pay $13/hr + tips
Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers in a coffee house or café. Their duties include working with other Baristas to help take orders, make drinks and provide timely service to customers.
