Server
Must be 21yrs or older. Some experience in positions involving customer service or food and beverage service is preferred. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift. This is a multi-floor establishment and you will be required to climb stairs, carrying dishes, repeatedly. This is a physically demanding position. Proficient English speaking and comprehension skills are required. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must.
You will be required to pass a server test after training is completed. If you do not pass, you will be offered a different position at the restaurant.
Server Assistant
Must be 21yrs or older. Some experience in positions involving customer service or food and beverage service is preferred. Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift. This is a physically demanding position. Advanced English speaking and comprehension skills are required. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must.
Host, Greeter
Advanced to fluent English is required for this position. Must have a positive and pleasant demeanor. Big smiles. Gift Shop (Retail Associate)

Prep Cook
Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs. Must have previous experience in the kitchen or a keen interest in culinary arts. No limitations or food allergies. Must be ok with working with pork. Must commit to end of contract date. Must be able to read recipes, communicate clearly and understand measurements. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must.
Line Cook
Advanced English is required for this position. Must be able to lift 50lbs/23kg and stand for up to 8 hours; no physical limitations. Must be able to work with all food types, including pork and seafood. Please do not apply if you have any sensitivities to cleaning chemicals (dish sanitizer). Must commit to the end date. Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must. Previous Line Cook Experience preferred. Even if it is a café, deli, or small bistro, that will be fine.

Job Description:
Server
We are a high volume, fast-paced restaurant serving authentic Alaskan cuisine, specialty cocktails. We hold our wait staff accountable to a high level of service standards & foster a team environment. Only experienced wait staff need apply. Employee must pass the server exam to confirm position. Employer may change position based skill level and on needs of the restaurant. Every employee will, at times, assist with Dishwasher position.
Duties:
Take accurate orders & serving food to guests. This includes memorizing the menu & actively selling/suggesting additional items.
Placing food items on serving plates or dishes along with required condiments and utensils to present to customers.
Maintaining and cleaning food service areas, restocking paper goods, condiments, silverware, dishware and drinks.
Some employees will be required to work outdoors with exposure to different weather conditions.
All employees will be moved between work areas as needed.
Answers customer queries about area and activities.
Server Assistant
This is a great entry-level position to gain restaurant experience. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding position where you will earn good tips if you work hard, have a positive attitude, and are a team player. You will be responsible for clearing guest tables and re-setting them keeping a pace with the flow and needs of the restaurant. Pre-bussing empty plates and glasses from tables, maintaining a clean environment within the restaurant.
You will also be support for the wait staff. There are times when your position will change from busser to food runner or expeditor, depending on the needs of the establishment.
Additional tasks may be assigned by your manager. Must commit to end of contract date.

Host, Greeter
It is the responsibility of the host to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the establishment and seat them. Monitoring the open dining sections for empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests, managing the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting. The host is responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations and moving tables together to accommodate large parties. The host will also assist as a back server, food expediter and assist in cleaning duties such as the bathroom, cleaning windows, sweeping, scrubbing and trash removal. Employer may change position based skill level and on needs of the restaurant. Every employee will, at times, assist with Dishwasher position.
Gift Shop (Retail Associate)
- The Gift Shop position is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of the retail shop, stocking inventory, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting guests. Specific day to day responsibilities include the following:
- Greet guests entering the gift shop/Liquor shop
- Assist guests with choosing items and finding sizes
- Prevent loss by theft or breakage
- Maintain organized and presentable displays
- Prepare orders to be shipped through the mail
- Handle cash and credit cards to process payments and returns
- Assist in performing weekly inventories
- Coordinate with Assistant Restaurant Manager to improve product offering based on guest feedback
- Ensure guest satisfaction in all aspects of the Gift Shop
- Assist in Brewery tours.

Prep Cook
Must have High-Intermediate to Advanced English to read instructions & recipes.
Responsible for the preparation of raw foods into an approved recipe format in preparation for cooking. Must be detail oriented & able to follow instructions. You will be assisting the cook, preparing food items for cooking; stocking food items as needed; cleaning & maintaining kitchen & food prep equipment; maintaining proper sanitation controls of products; preparing sauces, vegetables, meat (pork), fish and poultry items properly. You must be able to stand for your entire shift and be able to lift up to 50lbs/23kg. Employer may change position based skill level and on needs of the restaurant. Every employee will, at times, assist with Dishwasher position.
Line Cook
This is an advanced level, fast-paced position. Previous kitchen experience required. Line Cooks are responsible for preparation, assembly, and final presentation of ingredients according to the 49th State Brewing Company’s recipes and specifications and ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food by testing them. These individuals will utilize a large range of kitchen skills, including slicing, grinding, frying, and baking during food service. Line cooks are also responsible for the detection and disposal of unattractive and spoiled foods. They will promote safety culture in all areas in the workplace, including food safety, customer safety, and the safety of team members. Must commit to end of contract date. Must have Advanced English to read instructions & recipes, as well as communicate with the other cooks. Food Expeditor
The Food Expeditor (Expo) is responsible for making sure both sides of the kitchen are running smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for ticket times being up to standards and should be the only one communicating between the cooks and the front of house employees. Ensuring each dish going out is of high quality and plated correctly and all items on the ticket are going out together.
Essential Functions
Perform a variety of entry-level restaurant tasks.
Responsible for appearance and finished quality of food orders.
Ensure food orders are served promptly and efficiently to the correct table in the restaurant while ensuring guest satisfaction and overall food quality.
Making sure cooks and runners are aware of ticket times and items going together.
Watching that re-fire items get executed correctly.
Communicating with team members if there are any issues with tickets.
Informing management/chefs of issues.
Ensuring re-fires are made and handled in the correct manner.

Dishwasher & Front House Utility
As Dishwasher, you are responsible for unloading the dishes and cutlery brought to them by bussers and loading them into dish trays. The trays are unloaded, then placed into the commercial washers and are cleaned once closed. The commercial dishwashing machines do not accommodate larger pots and pans, so you will be required to wash things by hand.
Dishwashers are responsible for maintaining their workspace and keeping sanitary conditions at all times. This is a hard, physically demanding job. You will have constant exposure to cleaning chemical, hot water, steam from the dishwasher. Floors will be slick, so proper footwear (nonslip) is required. You will stand, bend, lift, and twist repeatedly for long durations. You will also be responsible for sweeping, cleaning, and trash removal. Must clean grease traps. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs. **THIS IS A GREAT ENTRY LEVEL JOB FOR A PARTICIPANT WITH INTERMEDIATE ENGLISH**
