Position: Prep Cook
Position Available: 1 Position
Hourly wage: $15.00/Hour
Bonus: Bonuses are not guaranteed and are contingent upon work performance. A $750 bonus may be awarded upon successful completion of the contract, submission of a valid Food Handler’s Card, and provision of a Social Security Number (SSN).
To be eligible, participants must work through the last day of their contract. End-of-contract bonuses are paid only for regular hours worked in the participant’s primary position.
Estimated hours: 32 – 40 Average hours per week
Overtime: Slight
Meal: Participants may be eligible for some meal discounts, ranging between 25-40% depending on years of service.
Job Prerequisites:
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs.
- Must have previous experience in the kitchen or a keen interest in culinary arts. No limitations or food allergies.
- Must be ok with working with pork.
- Must commit to end of contract date.
- Must be able to read recipes, communicate clearly and understand measurements.
- Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays is a must.
- Food Handlers Card Required.
- An interview with the host employer is required for this position.
Job Description:
- Responsibilities include preparing cold foods, slicing vegetables, meats, preparing menu items in accordance to recipes, and many other tasks designated by the Kitchen Manager.
- Prep cooks are responsible to maintain the area they work in and must adhere to the cleanliness and sanitation policies in place.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 50lbs.
- Must have previous experience in the kitchen or a keen interest in culinary arts.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written.
- Some experience in positions involving food preparation is normally preferred for this job or interest in working in a kitchen.
- Must commit to end of contract date.
- Employer may change position based on skill level, need of the restaurant, or to accommodate hours.
- Every employee assists, at times, with dishwasher shifts.
- It is important to be flexible. Food Handlers Card REQUIRED.
English Required skills: Upper Intermediate – Advanced (A, B+, B, ONLY)
