Job description:
Dishwasher: A dishwasher must scrub pots and pans. Load and operate the dish machine. Put items in their place. Keep the area clean. Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely fashion and follow safety procedures.
Cook: Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees. Must be comfortable working with a wide range of kitchen tools and utensils; include chopping knives and vegetable grinders, and testing the temperature of food at specified intervals. May fry, bake or grill meat, poultry and fish dishes. Responsible for preparing dishes prior to being cooked, which may involve cutting or carving meat, fish or poultry; as well as assembling, measuring, and mixing other ingredients for each particular dish. NOTE: includes cooking the line and frying and saute and grilling to order and cooking breakfast items. Experience required. This is a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for the above listed items and your duties will change daily depending on the needs of your manager.
Kitchen: Responsible for preparing food, measuring and preparing ingredients; Washes and peels ingredients in order for them to be used in different dishes; Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications; Must be comfortable using a knife to cut, chop and prepare vegetables, meats and other ingredients. Follow safety policies. Keep the work area clean. Must be able to follow directions and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
ALL positions: You will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, which includes cleaning the counters, making sure that all work areas are neat and clean at all times, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning dishes and restrooms (cleaning toilets, sinks and floors). You must be friendly and very outgoing, with a good work ethic. This is a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for the above listed items and your duties will change daily depending on the needs of your manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; prep cooking, cooking, cleaning, dishwashing, helping at the counter
Note: Manager will appoint every person for position upon of arrival
English Required skills: Upper Intermediate (A, B+, B, C+)
Start Date: May 7th – 23rd, 2022
End Date: August 25th -September 7th, 2022
Housing & Transportation:
- Housing in an Apartment/Host Family. Housing assistance is offered through CICD. Typical housing in the Outer Banks is a shared 3-6-person shared bedroom, 7-10 person apartments/house with basic furniture, utilities, electricity, water.
- Housing Fee: $110-$125 per week + $200 deposit
- Transportation: No local transportation, housing will be biking distance to work. Must be okay riding a bike.
